Contemporary Apartment – Kangaroo Point
Michael Christopher Davis, a seasoned professional with 30 years of expertise in custom kitchen design, had the privilege of overseeing the transformation of this pre-existing apartment. In partnership with the accomplished cabinetmakers at CraftBuild Kitchens, they successfully fulfilled the client’s request for a home makeover, achieving a brand-new contemporary look.
This ambitious project encompassed a comprehensive redesign, including the kitchen, two bathrooms, laundry area, entryway, and hall cabinets, as well as the installation of new flooring, painting, and upgraded air conditioning. The master suite serves as a remarkable testament to this incredible renovation, now bearing little resemblance to its original and outdated appearance that was in need of an update.
Master Suite
The element of surprise is unveiled upon pulling open the ingenious WingLine 230 folding doors, a delightful revelation for guests and visitors alike.
Initially, the room may appear somewhat vacant, yet behind the obsidian partition, a secret awaits—a concealed walk-in wardrobe on the left and a stylish ensuite bathroom that resides on the right. What was once the home’s balcony in its previous layout has been masterfully repurposed into the luxurious ensuite. This lavish space features a beautiful shower, and adjacent to the toilet are cabinetry with push-to-open doors that reveal convenient shelving for toiletries. These elements are elegantly rendered in complementary dark brown timber, harmonising beautifully with the nearly ebony tiles that define a sense of opulence and sophistication.
The folding doors on the opposite side of the master suite, as previously mentioned, unveil a walk-in wardrobe complete with shelves, providing ample room for clothing and essential storage. When closed, these doors effectively separate the bedroom from everyday clutter, making the inclusion of a walk-in wardrobe a stylish and practical addition.

While Michael Christopher modestly described the project to us as not a high-end project, when you see the before-and-after photos witnessing the remarkable transformation of the Kangaroo Point apartment and the work that went into making the luxurious home design, you can’t help but recognise the meticulous planning that drove this endeavour. The renovation into opulent home radiating elegance in its design, along with the layout enhancements that significantly improve the client’s lifestyle, vividly serves as a compelling example of the satisfying outcomes that come to fruition when visionary design is brought to life.
